What is UPSU?
The University of Portsmouth Students’ Union (The Union or UPSU for short) has a vision of creating a positive impact with every Portsmouth student during their time at University.
We are an independent charity led by our values and guided by our students, we do this by providing wide-ranging services and learner support to over 25,000 students of the University of Portsmouth. The Union is based in the centre of Portsmouth and turns over £1.5M per annum, employing approximately 60 staff.

Where will I work?
The Students’ Union is based on Cambridge Road, at the heart of campus, next door to the University Library.
We are a ten minute walk from Portsmouth and Southsea railway station and 15 minutes from Portsmouth Harbour, Gunwharf Quays and the seafront.
We have close links to the University of Portsmouth and our staff are eligible to apply for university parking, gym membership (including sports facilities) as well as other benefits.

What kind of people work at UPSU? All kinds!
We are a small team of professionals from a range of backgrounds (including ex-students!). It’s our job to provide amazing activities and services on behalf of students.
Our leadership team also comprises of five elected students (Sabbatical Officers) who are employed full-time for year to represent all Portsmouth students and guide the Union’s work.
